From Lock 31, the starting point for this loop, you will follow the Voie Bleue along the Canal de l'Est. After wandering through the streets of Charmes, you'll head for Brantigny, then Bouxurulles via little-travelled back roads through rolling farmland. Your journey will then take you through the streets of Rugney, a charming little Vosges village of 130 souls, before returning to Charmes.
